wonderful family holiday. Events at Rye Harbour offer children the
chance to get away from their computers and learn about nature and learn
pursuits such as shrimping, beach art, bird watching.
Children's Events at Rye Harbour Nature Reserve
The Nature Reserve runs a range of events for children throughout the
year. These include:
Find out about Rye's past - smuggling, shipwrecks, the Norman
invasion. Children under 16 years free at both sites, when
accompanied by an adult
Children's Play area at Rye Salts
The childrens park is close to the fishing quay. Follow
the footpath to the Quay and see the local fishing boats or buy
some fresh fish from the local fish shop
Pugwash Treasure Hunt
held at the Rye Museum. John Ryan, writer of the Pugwash books

Swimming & Sports
The Leisure Centre in Rye has a swiming pool and other activities for
children. See

Rye has a number of shops for children. Visit the Wobbly Wardrobe
for clothes & toys, Adams Newsagents for toys and games (both in the
High Street). Visit Rye Soldiers and learn about past battles
and just up the road you will find Wood'n'Things for traditional
wooden toys.
