Coastal & Rural Rye
Visit Rye Harbour, Camber Sands, Winchelsea Beach
Rye Town is within easy reach of the different coastlines of Rye
Harbour and Winchelsea Beach with their shingle beaches, flocks of
birds and uncrowded spaces. For those looking for sandy beaches,
Camber Sands offers miles of sand dunes protected by marram grass.
Artists and photographers are drawn to the remote landscapes and
dramatic light of the local coastal and rural areas.

Dungeness Nature Reserve |
|

If you haven't been to Dungeness, nothing can quite prepare
you for this landscape - mile after mile of shingle, wild and
weird! Dungeness's position, jutting into the English Channel,
makes it ideally placed to watch for migrant birds arriving or
departing. See map

Ancient Winchelsea |
|
Winchelsea has spectacular views to the sea and inland across
the Brede Valley. Founded in the 13th century by Edward 1
as a port, it replaced Old Winchelsea which was lost to the
rising sea.
